Our HistorySPARK Publications originally launched as SPARK Enterprises - a home-based design business in 1998; six years later, it became a bricks-and-mortar firm. In 2005, SPARK's founder and president, Fabi Preslar, expanded the company and hired her first employee, while 2006 ushered in new clients and services. In 2007, SPARK was repositioned with a new dba - SPARK Publications - to focus on publication design. Preslar led product and revenue diversification, and broadened the breadth of clients to create a growing, even more stable base of business for the company. The small firm was streamlined for efficiency, tactically replacing two mid-level design and production staff with Mindy Kuhn, a seasoned art director. Fabi Preslar's husband, Larry Preslar, joined the firm as its new creative director, thereby boosting design capacity to an all-time high. SPARK also forged strategic partnerships to provide value-added services to its clients and produce higher quality work - faster and on budget. In fall of 2009, SPARK Publications began its third expansion. Amy Trainor was hired in a new duel position of Assistant to the President/Publications Assistant. In early 2010, a new Production Designer position was added and CPCC design graduate Juliana Lievano was chosen to fill the position. SPARK Publications' core mission is to transform our clients' visions into beautiful and marketable publications and projects. The final results of our products change as technology continues to develop over time. Our philosophy is to design with the purpose to exceed our clients' visions and bring their businesses to further success. Preslar has personally given back to the community since the first week of launching SPARK Publications. As a company, we continue in this tradition of service by producing Pro bono work and reduced rate projects for nonprofits owned by women and serving women in need. |
